All Access: Exploring “Desperate Housewives” through Spotify Playlists

Today we’re serving my favorite girl dinner: a Desperate Housewives Spotify Playlist Series.

If we have ever had a conversation together, I’m sure you’ve heard me slip “Desperate Housewives” into it somehow. “Desperate Housewives” is my favorite show of all-time, and I’d like to consider myself a scholar of it. It has been on a loop at my house for the past five years (sorry mom) and I can’t get enough of it. In the back of my mind, I’m always thinking of songs that match each character in specific situations. So, here it is. A playlist that outlines what songs I associate each character to at specific plot lines. There are 5 songs per season (8 seasons total) for each character in their own playlists.

If you haven't watched it yet, don’t worry: no spoilers here! This iconic 2004 ABC series takes us behind the picture-perfect facades of a suburban neighborhood, where four women lead lives that are anything but idyllic. Intriguing mysteries, sizzling romances, and big plotlines make this show memorable, but let's not forget the sharp humor that adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the series.

"Desperate Housewives" is widely known for its compelling storylines, captivating mysteries, and engaging romances. However, what often gets overlooked is the show's incredible sense of humor. From Lynette's withering one-liners to Mrs. McCluskey's zingers and the bickering between Gabrielle and Carlos, the humor in the series brings laughter and unexpected delight to the viewers. Not to mention, all the episode titles are titled after Stephen Sondheim songs!
